Tobacco Control

                                 Mission Statement

The mission of Tobacco Control of Elkhart (TCEC) is to create, within our community, the belief that tobacco use is physically and financially harmful, and therefore, socially unacceptable.  Our goal is to prevent and reduce the use of all tobacco products in Elkhart County and protect our residents from exposure to secondhand or environmental tobacco smoke.

 

                                Hours of Operation

Monday :               8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.                                            

Tuesday - Friday:   8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • School presentations (4th-college)
  • Adult presentations
  • Worksite consultation (cessation and secondhand smoke)
  • Health Fair displays (community and worksite)
  • Mini-grants (for cessation and prevention activities)

 

                                 Project Description

Tobacco Control of Elkhart County serves as a resource on tobacco- related issues. They provide information; smoking cessation classes; one-on-one education; assistance with smoke-free policy development and implementation for restaurants, worksites and public places; and, prevention programs for schools, 4th grade through college. They have speakers available for service clubs, churches and other organizations, and participate in community and worksite health fairs. TCEC also has a limited amount of funding available for groups interested in facilitating tobacco control activities and events.
